(Trading as DIY Doors)
These Terms & Conditions apply to DIY Doors, which is a trading name of UK Happy Doors Ltd (“the Company”). DIY Doors is a brand operated by UK Happy Doors Ltd, and all contracts are entered into with UK Happy Doors Ltd.
1. Our Products:
a) Descriptions and photography
The products sold under the DIY Doors brand are either photographed or digitally produced and are accurately displayed on the website. However, due to different types, styles and settings of computer monitors, shading and colour may appear differently from the exact colour.
For this reason, we strongly advise that you request a free sample before placing your order to ensure that you are satisfied with the colour and quality prior to ordering.
Whilst every attempt will be made by DIY Doors (UK Happy Doors Ltd trading as DIY Doors) to ensure that the goods sold and delivered match in every respect any sample or description shown or sent to you, any minor or immaterial variation, change in colour or pattern between the sample or description and the goods delivered shall not entitle you to reject the goods nor to claim any compensation for such variation or change.
b) Measurements
Many of the goods we sell are made according to your sizes. It is your responsibility to take the correct measurements of your doors.
If you are unsure about any products or how to measure, please contact our customer services team before ordering or consult the online measuring guide.
You must check the product details and measurements before placing your order online and are responsible for ensuring your order is correct.
We cannot accept returns or issue refunds where incorrect measurements have been provided, as made-to-measure goods cannot be resold.
c) Made to measure products
Made to measure products are custom made to your precise requirements. Once manufactured, our products are suitable only for you and therefore cannot be cancelled or returned.
For this reason, it is extremely important that you are certain about the product and size required. We strongly recommend that you double check your order to ensure that the products ordered and measurements taken are correct.
d) Happy Care
If you have paid for Happy Care on your order, you will be covered for missmeasurements up to a tolerance of:
- 25mm for doors
- 10mm for hinge holes
For example, if you order a 576mm wide door and it needed to be 596mm wide, you are covered and a free replacement will be sent.
If replacements are sent, we will arrange collection of any mis-measured door at our own expense.
If you have mis-measured a door, you must email a photograph of the unit it is intended for with a tape measure across the width and height, together with the measurements, so that we can ensure the replacement is the correct size.
All replacements are free of charge. However, if the replacement falls into a higher price bracket, you will be charged the difference you would have paid had you ordered correctly. We are unable to refund any price difference where the replacement is cheaper.
Refunds are not available for Happy Care once the order has been placed, even if it is not required.
Replacements can take up to 21 working days from notification to delivery. The Company shall do all it reasonably can to meet any delivery date given but will not be liable for delay however caused, nor for loss, costs or damage suffered by the Buyer through such delay. Time of delivery shall not be of the essence.
Happy Care does not cover:
- Damage during transit
- Accidental damage under any circumstances
2. Order processing and our contract:
a) Order cancellation or amendments
When placing an order with DIY Doors, you are entering into a legally binding contract with UK Happy Doors Ltd trading as DIY Doors.
In accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, made-to-measure goods (for example, custom-sized kitchen doors) are excluded from the 14-day cancellation rights and cannot be cancelled once production has commenced.
b) Ordering by telephone
We are unable to take orders over the telephone.
c) Draft Orders, Quotes and Baskets
Where baskets, quotes or draft orders are prepared by DIY Doors for customer convenience, it remains the customer’s responsibility to ensure all product details, specifications and measurements are correct before completing payment.
By placing an order, the customer accepts responsibility for the accuracy of the order. DIY Doors cannot accept liability for errors once payment has been made, unless agreed in writing.
3. Prices
The price you will pay is the price shown at checkout and on your confirmation email. All prices are inclusive of VAT and the total shown is the amount payable.
Upon receipt of your confirmation email, you should check that you are satisfied with the price of the goods ordered.
4. Payment
When ordering products from the DIY Doors website, we can only process your order once payment has been made in full by credit or debit card.
You may pay online using major credit cards, debit cards and Klarna.
Payment card details are encrypted to minimise the possibility of unauthorised access or disclosure. Authority for payment must be given at the time of order. You will be charged at the point of order.
Our liability to you in connection with any order will not exceed the total price charged for the relevant items.
5. Acceptance
We reserve the right to cancel your order if:
- We have insufficient stock to manufacture and deliver the goods ordered
- You have ordered from a location where we do not deliver
- The goods ordered have been discontinued
- A pricing or typing error has occurred due to system failure within our database or website
If we are unable to supply an item for any reason beyond our reasonable control, we will notify you as soon as possible. No discounts or compensation can be offered in such circumstances.
6. Delivery of your goods
The Company shall do all it reasonably can to meet any delivery date given but will not be liable for delay however caused, nor for loss, costs or damage suffered by the Buyer through such delay. Time of delivery shall not be of the essence.
Goods shall be delivered to the address agreed within the Contract.
The Buyer must do all that is reasonably possible to enable delivery on the agreed date. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Buyer must contact the Company to agree an alternative date.
If the Buyer is not available to accept delivery, the Company or its agent may place the goods into storage and attempt to arrange redelivery. An additional charge will apply to cover redelivery and storage costs.
It is the Buyer’s responsibility to ensure access to the property and that at least one able person is available to assist with offloading large orders. Deliveries are made to ground floor only.
Orders may arrive in more than one delivery.
All goods must be visually inspected on delivery. Any damage to packaging must be signed for as damaged and notified to the driver. Damaged deliveries must be reported to DIY Doors by email within 24 hours with photographs. Failure to report within this timeframe may result in replacements being chargeable.
Where goods are replaced due to transit damage or manufacturing fault, replacements will be subject to standard lead times. The Company will use reasonable endeavours to reduce this lead time but will not be liable for additional labour costs or losses resulting from delay.
7. Product Defects
If goods are delivered with defects, these must be reported within 24 hours of delivery in order to arrange a free replacement.
Please email photographs of the defects together with a description. Replacements for made-to-measure items will be dispatched within 10–12 working days. You may usually fit the defective door temporarily if required.
8. Guarantee
DIY Doors offers:
- A 6-year manufacturer’s guarantee on manufacturing faults for all made-to-measure doors
- A 12-month manufacturer’s guarantee on all accessories and painted wooden doors
We reserve the right to repair or replace the product. It may be necessary to return goods for inspection prior to dispatching a replacement.
This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.
9. General
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
If any part of these Terms is held to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining Terms.
